Pen on a detailed diagram next to a ruler

Often we find that goods marked as bespoke, are using the term loosely. This usually entails working from a specific design, but shaving a couple of mm off here and there so that the size is suited to the customer. Here at Brinard Joinery, we focus on bespoke by design, rather than adjusted designs.

Why Design From Scratch?

Designing a project from scratch may take more time than adjusting a previous design. However, it does mean that every element of the design is specifically created for the customer and their needs. Each and every project is entirely different. Even if it is designed to match existing furniture. You may have different measurements, different finishes, or even ust slightly different angles. Creating a new design means that the finished project should be created perfectly, without the need for adjustments.

Bespoke For Purpose

When creating a design for a project, we usually find that the project our customers are looking for are for a specific purpose.
Consider kitchens. We all know that the main purpose is a space to prepare food for your family on a daily basis. You may also use the same space to eat, do washing and entertain guests. Each family will use their kitchen slightly differently. This means that having a kitchen designed specifically to suit your needs allows you to add all the elements that you require to help make the most of your space.
Similar to kitchens, having a wooden conservatory built onto your home is a very individual choice. Many conservatories are built from one plan in a specific design (such as Georgian, victorian etc) and then adjusted to size. However, as each person uses the space differently, having a design from scratch can help you to incorporate all the features that you wish.

Design Process

When it comes to creating your design, there are a number of ways that we can get started. If you already have an idea of what you are looking for in advance, you can bring these ideas with you. This can be in the form of verbal descriptions, or you can bring images of similar ideas. We can then create a design, which can be reviewed and adjusted until it perfectly fits your requirements.
