Building Regulations 2010 – Part L Conservation of fuel and power
The Building Regulations 2010 approved Document L provides guidance on the conservation of fuel and power and splits into four parts with L1A covering new dwellings.
Guidance provided includes insulation regulations, boiler productivity, lighting and storage techniques for hot water. Further information enclosed, covers fixed standards for Carbon Index ratings, solar emissions, heating and ventilation systems, space heating controls and air conditioning systems amongst other fuel and power systems.
The 2013 edition of Approved Document L1A: Conservation of Fuel and Power in new dwellings, is the most up to date version in England and came into effect on 6th April 2014 and has replaced all previous editions.
The latest amendments came into force on 6th April 2016 (2016 Ammendments). This approved document gives you guidance for compliance with the Building Regulations for building work carried out in England.
