Glazing is fast becoming one of the most important factors when designing your home because of the impact it has on the overall appearance.
The beauty of timber windows is they will slot perfectly into a host of installations, including extensions and conservatories.
The layout of your rooms and the shape of your house will dictate the best positions for your windows. For example, a single storey home works well with narrow and vertical windows.
Timber Windows for a Variety of Homes
If you’ve recently decided to renovate a cottage or other traditional property timber windows are the best way to replicate an established design.
Alternatively if you want to modernise a property and go for a contemporary look, the bigger the glazing the better. Timber will also soften a rendered exterior of a modern house.
There are three different types of wooden windows to choose from:
Open-out casement windows
Open-out casement windows are a traditional British option which we can design in a variety of sizes bespoke to your requirements.
You can choose from three styles of casement windows –
- Side Hung – Hinged at the side for easy opening
- Top Light – Fixed pane divided from a narrow glazed top-hinged casement
- Top Hung/Awning – Hinged at the top which is perfect for wet climates as it blocks the rain
Tilt and Turn – A great choice for modern properties, tilt and turn windows open inwards providing both ventilation and security.
Sash Windows – Typically used for renovating or replicating Georgian and Victorian housing plus traditional-style new builds.
Adding wooden windows to your property, no matter what type, instantly adds personality and character to the exterior of your home.
