Sustainably grown soft wood in compliance with FSC standards is harvested and treated in the process of acetylation. This is a non-toxic process in which the timber is soaked in an organic compound called acetic anhydride. The wood is more resistant to moisture, insects, and rot. Tougher than hardwoods, acetylated wood also beats common pressure-treated products. It does not expand and warp like other wood products. The perfect material for external sliding doors.
