Make Bespoke Joinery a Sweeping Success

It’s sometimes considered a tedious task but keeping your staircase looking sparkling with regular cleaning will keep stubborn stains and build up away.
Here are some essential cleaning tips –

  • Cleaning a sticky handrail – Oils on your hands can build up on your handrail over time but a regular wipe with a baby wipe will break down any grime. A mix of vinegar and water will remove any oil-based residue from your timber.
  • Vacuum thoroughly – A regular vacuum will keep carpeted stairs in good shape, and we would recommend using hoover modifications to get to those hard to reach corners, crevices and edges.
  • Sweep the Corners – Cleaning wooden stairs may seem quite simple with a brush but to make sure you do a thorough job use a flicking motion from the corner outward to remove any hard to reach dirt.
  • Protect Your Wood – The number one enemy of wood is moisture, so if your stairs require more than a quick sweep use a damp rag and dry quickly as you go. Follow this up with vegetable wax like Brazilian wax will protect against humidity and wear.
